Throwback Thursday

As encouraged by some of Prolly’s recent reminiscent entries (here and here), I’ve found myself looking back through old blog posts and flickr sets only to recognize that the roots of this movement are still quite young. One album that struck my attention came from the Peel Sessions spot in May 2008, I believe when the BFF was in NYC. Just considering the frames people were on provides a good time stamp for the photos. This was back…

When LaMarche and the Gangsta Track ruled all

When Wonka rocked an IRO (and 28c tires were considered big)

When Tony Fast thrashed on a Steamroller

And when Zach was still rolling on the Davidson (RIP) in all its glory

Check out the rest of the mrzeta’s set for a few old shots of some of fixed gear freestyle’s finest

I’m pretty sure Tom was riding cross tires, but probably like 32c, I was blown away by the size. Ha!

Yeah, that night was a lot of fun. I remember the wheelie 180’s and Sam Miller’s tabletop. NUTS. Sprints were also killer. Kennedy slayed shit.
