2010 most inspirational fixed freestyle riders
If I met you and rode with you this year then put yourself on the list. These guys are at the top of the game and I thought it would be a shame not to highlight some of the people that inspired me (and hopefully you) this year. In no particular order…
Ed ‘Wonka‘ Laforte
Why: Co-founder of Grime Bikes, 26″ fixed revolutionary, and he is a big reason why people show up (and lose) at trick comps.
Josh Boothby
Why: Bringing his pro BMX status to the fixed community and we are happy to have him.
Jakob Santos
Why: Dude goes fucking big and isn’t afraid to show some ass.
Tyler Johnson
Why: He is a natural wonder on wheels, I truly believe he can do anything he sets his mind to. He has a style and grace all his own and continues to raise the bar every time he hops on a bike.
Mike Chacon
Why: Young, determined, and I knew he was going places the very first time I saw him ride.
Tom Lamarche
Why: Balls the size of watermelons and they aren’t done growing.
Antonyo Wothe
Why: His style is buttery and he brings new things to the table every time, period.
Justin ‘Congo’ Mitchell
Why: His smile (and he texts me because he misses me sometimes).
Nasty
Why: The only international rider (Japan) on this list and his speed and fluidity is something to be revered.
Steven Jensen
Why: Comes from a BMX background and loves all types of bikes. Lucky for us, he took a liking to fixed-freestyle and a legend was born. He continued to put out edits filled with tricks never-before-seen on a fixed gear, and I don’t think he knew that at the time.
There are so many names that I couldn’t fit on the list, so feel free to give a shout in the comments section to the person who inspired you to ride.
