Jonah Kessel for SADIO

So sick to see the young ones come up and kill it. I suspect there will be much more from Johah in the years to come. Great video work by Matt Reyes. Tykes on bikes!

FUTURE TENSE TODAY!

Today is a really exciting day because it will be host to one of the biggest Future Tense events of the year. The bunch of rad people worked really hard preparing for this event and I want to thank all of those who pitched in! For those who want to do the group ride from Cal Anderson to the event, please be ready to roll at 6:30 sharp. Otherwise meet at 65th and Ravenna. The trick demo (feat. Tyler Johnson & the ZLOG Crew) will be held at 7:00, and ramps will be ready for use around 5:00 for those freestylers who want to hit them up early. Those riders of a faster pace, there will be head-to-head sprints going down as well as a mini-crit (registration 7:30). A Contour ROAM camera will be atop the prize pile. Later in the night we will be raffling off a 727 Track frame from Leader bikes, as well as a number of other goodies from FSA, POW Gloves, Casual Industrees, Flying Coffin, Coal Headwear, Gravity, Stay Gold Straps, and also a wheel build by Seattle’s most celebrated bicycle mechanic Tre Wideman. Tickets will be $2 so bring some extra cash. To end the night we will be heading to the Kraken Bar and Lounge for some live music by Junk Drawer Vibrator & Lindseys benefiting the Seattle N.A.C.C.C.’s (more info).

Check out the Future Tense event page for more details.

LA Brakeless welcomes Charles

This kid has a really nice style about him. Thanks to L.A.B. for sending this one my way.

Pay Homage: Tanner Monmaney

Tanner was killing it before anyone was even paying attention to BMX tricks on fixed gear bikes. His style definitely set a precedent for things to come. I still go back and watch his old videos and find stuff that surprises me. Aloha Fixed and Tanner put Hawaii on the fixed gear map, so if you aren’t familiar with your history here is a lesson for you.

LockedCog – Tommyknockers

POP UP. POP OFF. 1

Sick!

IMinusD and Grime held a no-notice pop-up jam in a Downtown San Jose bum park. The Don’t Nark In The Park Jam features riding from Ed Wonka, Gabe Alcantara, Alex Blanco, Matt Montoya, Christian Hamrick, Jeff Dempler, and Mike Schmitt. For a mellow BBQ day some pretty technical tricks went down.

Elliott Milner April Twenty Twelve

Dig the tuck-no to wheelie!

RecFail highlights Jonathan Davis

JD has joined the SE bikes ranks and is shredding on the Showtime frame. Good to see this dude is getting some coverage cause he kills it.

Tyler Johnson – H PLUS SON Todestrieb

Tyler delivers a solid edit to introduce H PLUS SON’s new freestyle rim, the Todestrieb (roughly translated to: A death instinct). Available in 26″ and 29er. Chrome and Black Chrome finishes

Filmed on located in Long Beach, California by Matt Spencer. Complete with plenty of bump jumps, barspin to wheelies and some wall rides.

Matt Spencer for CSK

Matt comin through with a quick one for CSK. Lots of sick spots, and lots of creativity all packed into a minute or so. The bump into the little wedge line at :48 is nasty and the nollie x-up looks real good too. This is a good representation of what I think CSK is.

2 for 2 Tuesday at Hot Mama’s

Chris and I had to hide under cover this past Saturday. Stretching our minds to turn this manual pad in to something other than what it is. Here are some of the results.

Quickie with Tyler in the Remodeled Living Room

Chris, Tyler, and myself took advantage of a nice Monday and went back to our old Living Room DIY Spot. With some quick and dirty renovations we got the couch back in to commission.

Got this mini line for CSK and ZLOG LIFE

April Future Tense!

Join us on Friday, April 13th as Tyler Johnson prepares for the Redbull Ride & Style competition (San Francisco, April 28th). Last year he took 3rd place overall, and is gunning for 1st place this year. A ramp and boxes have been provided by Red Bull to help send off Tyler in good form, and for use in many future events. We will kick off the night with a group ride from Cal Anderson to 65th and Ravenna, followed by a trick jam, sprints, and footdown. The event is free and everyone is welcome to participate and/or spectate. Thanks to all of the sponsors who made this happen in such short notice!

Head over to the Future Tense facebook and event page.

After party show at the Kraken Bar in U-District. Details here.

A.J. Austin-Cosmic Cowboy

A.J. with a couple tricks at his local park in San Marcos. I’ve always loved his crank stalls, and crank to 180 is even better. Always lookin smooth my man!

Gabriel Garcia – Bombtrack

Congrats to Gabe for being the first U.S. Sponsored rider for Bombtrack!

Also, in Bombtrack news: Simon Andraca is coming to the U.S. for the Red Bull Ride & Style! Get hyped!

Pay Homage: Keo Curry

Keo Curry – One of the godfathers of fixed gear trick riding. He was a large reason kids wanted to do tricks on a track bike. I am proud to say I have known the guy since the Fast Friday days and he surely inspired me to do a trick or two on my bike.

I wonder how many FGFS riders have been inspired by this guy?

Vids!

A few recent edits worth checking out.

Lil’ Phil dropped this new one for his new sponsors BB17 and Spike parts.

Sam Houser for RYD

209 Cogs Spring Break edit goes hard! Props Alex Nunez, I am loving the wheelie tuck-no hander line.

Kenny Arimoto of Destroy Bikes put this Woodward compilation together which was full of amazing riding. Good tunes and good vibes in this park edit.

Machete Slayer bar

A new FGFS parts company is on the scene called Machete Bikes. Their first product is the Slayer bar which underwent testing by Corey and Antonyo recently.

Keep an eye on Machete!

Nelson Bell – Free Ballard

Here is a new vid from the homies! Nelson coming through with a nice video, edited by Jake Hanson of Truly Bogus. These two dudes have been working on this video for quite a while and it turned out awesome. Check it!
