Breakbrake17 / Spike put together a mini edit with Wonder at their local park to promote their Hi Bar. Keep your eyes peeled on this crew, lots of new things in the works for 2012!
The entire team has been riding these bars for quite a while without any hiccups or complaints. They come in blue, black, and flashy chrome. They are plenty wide and have a comfortable backsweep as well. For the time being, I can’t see myself riding any bars but these.

Here are a few clips for a new project I am working on called CSK. Fortunately, I have a group of friends who encourage the pursuit of fulfillment, so a long time running joke has now turned in to something real.
Chris made me some prototype stickers. Others are on the way. Get at me if you’re interested.
I’ll be introducing the rest of the group over the coming weeks with some short interviews so please tune in.

3 quick clips on some conduit railing from myself and Tyler. More to come soon.
Yang got together this catalog featuring some new and old goodies from Breabrake17 and Spike parts. Take a look
Just built up a new vanilla cream Charmer. Real happy with how the color turned out and the geo changes that were made from the sample that I’ve been riding. Huge thanks go out to from Yang at BB17 and Spike Parts, Kengo at Phoenix, Zloggy, and Tre for all their help.

Spotted some wild clips of a customized Breakbrake17 Charmer frame. Integrated pivotal guts and a massive cutout from the heat tube. Work and photos from Sunrise Cycles.

Thanks to Ke-Ta for sharing this one.
Really excited about these new Hi Bars from Spike Parts. The first batch sold out within a few days. We will be getting our shipment within the next few weeks and will keep you posted. Give us a shout if you are interested. I’ll be rolling on a chrome set soon!

Pretty stoked on BB17’s new SPIKE PARTS hubs. They are 36 hole, female and will come with optional front and rear guards that replace the cone spacers. I will hopefully have my set rolling soon and will surely post photos of them once they are built! I’ve also been running the steel splined Y6 sprocket for the past month and could not be happier. This one piece design will surely be a great compliment to any bmx style drivetrain. It’s stiff and has stayed true after multiple slams. Be on the lookout for these parts in the Fall.

Still have Breakbrake17 raw and bronze 26″ Charmer frames, black and raw Cobra v2 forks, and black riser bars available for purchase. Hit us up if you are interested!

Jacob had been riding 700c’s his 26″ Charmer (yes the clearances are that good) and we felt it was necessary to put on 26’s to see how it handled with the appropriate wheel size. Besides the wheel being a little too far back in the dropouts (we could have taken a few chain links out), the bike seemed pretty proportionate with smaller wheels.
I’m really excited to share my newest build, the Breakbrake17 26er Charmer (on 29ers). I’ve been fortunate to have the support from Yang and BB17 for nearly 1 year now and I am very grateful to have been able to work on the Charmer frames and other parts. With all of the hype around negative bottom brackets I decided it was time to give a spin. As most everyone who has switched has commented, the raised center of gravity takes a few pedals to settle in to. A change in 5.5cm makes a drastic difference. Apart from that however, the 26er still has the same solid clearance as the original Charmer and rolls just as smooth. The higher bb does necessitate taller bars in order to off set the higher seat. Against the guidance of some of the Zlog crew I sought out some 4″ Immortis Bucket Bars. Torey seemed to get down with them and their cruiser style for some reason appealed to me. Definitely the stiffest handlebars i’ve ridden. The narrow cross bar and back sweep also required some getting used to. Apart from that, I’m running a slotted 14mm axle on 14mm dropouts (weight savings) that will soon be replaced by an appropriate hub and axle combo. Also, riding an Unknown chainring and a cushy set of Phoenix v2 straps. Also, the Premium pivotal was the best investment of $25 hands down. Thanks to all those who supported the build and my daily enjoyment on it.

Really excited to get out of work and see this post on Breakbrake17’s blog. Highlighted are the revised Charmer 700c and 26″ frames with updated geometry specs (14mm dropouts) and colorways. Take a peak at the clean ads that Yang put together below.

Nasty laying down a really fluid line. He is in Taipei for the Pedal It Don’t Push It event.

Breakbreak17 had this built up for the Taipei Cycle Show coming up. Love the subtleness of the detail. Too bad they all don’t come like this one, huh?

Breakbrake17 is hosting a fixed gear freestyle trick competition in Taipei on March 20th. Nasty will be making an appearance which means there will be some serious shredding.

Cogwei has the first 700c production model Charmer built up. Fatty 2.1″ clearance in the rear. Sounds like the frames are due in any day now at BB17, so if you’ve ordered one, the wait is soon to be over!
Thanks for reppin!
BreakBrake17 rider Funny has got some crazy style when it comes to flatland lines.

Yang from BB17 threw up a photo of the 700c production Charmers. They are off to paint and soon to be headed out world wide.
My boys at Breakbrake17 just got a restock of the highly sought after Version 2 Cobra fork. We should be receiving our shipment in about 2 weeks time. Will have the black and the new raw version shown below. Get at us if you want to get down for 2011.
