I dig my Zontrac straps and now they’ve made a more affordable version called the APACE.
The Apace-Strap comes in dead color. Each of the 6 different colors is in it’s timeless look still an all-time classic. We wanted to create a strap that has a lower price with a high standard quality, which opens it up as being an option to a ton more riders. From the double layer webbing, to the new improved centerpiece, this strap is built to go fast and blast off. Our new straps and apparel are arriving at our distributors now (or really soon) and we will be updating the Products page of the site over the next few days with all the new stuff! Check them out now, online & in stores worldwide in all their glory.
This is Snow’s first edit, but he has been a regular commenter on the blog for quite some time. Finally good to see what kind of stuff this guy has in store. The fakie stair rides are so sick and I have been waiting to see this kind of creativity. It doesn’t hurt that he is sporting the Drop Bars Not Bombs and Hell on Wheels tank tops!
Not to mention, Matt Rice’s video work is super clean. You might remember Matt from Bootleg Sessions fame.

Bombtrack gave me the go-ahead to reveal their newly patented hub system. They have been in the works for quite a long time with Simon Andraca testing them. Now that they are patented, they will be put into production which should be finished and ready for distribution in late August or early September. Note that similar systems from other brands will be paying royalties to use this technology.
Hubs come as 9t or 10t option and in 3 to 4 colours – and fitting hubguards will be available of course. The release and shipment of the Bombtrack hub will be late august / early September 2012.

That’s today folks. This month will be pretty laid back since we went all out for last month’s event, but we will still be shredding as usual. Come hang!
The filmer/editor/creator of this project, Zane Meyer, knows what’s really going down behind the scenes of the fixed gear world. It is easy to predict that this video mag is going to be good!
Website coming soon chopemdownfilms.com
Good clean video, but it’s not a ‘fixie’ bro. Watch!
Joe “My Name Isn’t Couch” Mckeag showed up prepared for the Ride & Style with an arsenal of huge tricks. His truckdriver was the first one I’ve seen landed in a fixed gear competition, and his 540 was a real showstopper. He is easily one of the best young riders out there, and will surely be a favorite to watch in future competitions.
Always good to see a new vid from the Sam Clark and Phillip Williams duo!
Jacob put this vid together to show off the CSK basketball jerseys. There is some awesome riding in the beginning by the Chris, Tyler and Jacob and then basketball bro-down at the end.
Collared Shirt Krew
Diggin’ this vid Packy did for Machete. He kills it on 700s!
You gotta hand it to Josh Boothby, he sure is a showman. He got the crowd hyped and fed off their energy the whole day through. His backflips were dialed and they solidified his win despite loads of stiff competition. Congrats Boothby!
Our pals at City Grounds put together an edit of last weekend’s Ride & Style event. They had a pretty good view of the course from where they were. Check it!
Meanwhile in Rotterdam…
Crisp little vid from Sountrack. Always good to see people in other cities ride about.

Young guns coming out blazin’! Who’s the guy with the 700c Gumwall Resist tires? I saw him in SF and he was killing the flat 360s.

Tyler took second at the Red Bull Ride & Style event and I am super stoked for him considering the intense level of competition that he faced. Tyler’s pedal feeble to 180 bar was, without a doubt, one of the most exciting tricks of the day. It is especially awesome if you know that it was the very first time that he had attempted the trick, let alone land it first try! Great work Tyler!
I’ve been on the Holdfast 29er since last winter and its the first time i’ve never wanted to change anything on a bike im riding. Heres a bunch of clips i’ve compiled since then. HOLDFAST
Another from #FIXIEFAMOUS! This one covers the race portion and includes all of the bangers from the trick comp as well. Tyler’s feeble to 180 bar down an 8 foot drop was nuts!
Ramon put together a really sick edit of Saturday’s Red Bull Ride and Style weekend. Be prepared to get flooded with event coverage throughout the week. So much great shit went down.
Ronnie Garcia also dropped a highlight reel of the event.
I am so stoked I was there to witness it all. I’ll be posting photos and a video as soon as I sift through all of it. Shout out to all the people I saw/met. It was a blast.
This video is the start of a fixed gear video zine produced by Chop Em Down films. Get excited because this is going is just the beginning of something really sweet. Props Zane!
website coming soon (chopemdownfilms.com)
Gus did a sick job on the flier! I know Clappé will definitely be out there holding it down. Check out the Midwest Mayhem site for future updates.
It will be held in Milwaukee, WI on June 9th. The trick jam will be held after hours at 4 Seasons skate park with the pre-jam hangout/beers/root beers/awesome new video premiere(s) at the Hi-Hat Garage (the bar that held the first MWM).
A brand new fixed gear magazine has been released out of Italy called CYKELN. The overall design and layout is done really well, and will soon be available in English as well as Italian. We’ve got a ZLOG ad in this 00 issue featuring Chris Clappé. Go ahead and download the magazine here and utilize google translate to read the articles until issue 01, which should be fully translated.
