The world’s first Tandem Gravel Racer bicycle. Made for Mistress in Venice, Ca.
Being the stoker on a bike like this would be a trip, like going back in time.
Spotted this amazing Colossi tandem frame at 14bike co. Quite possibly the best track tandem I have ever seen. View more photos at Colossi’s flickr. Hopefully we will see some updates when it is built up.
Can someone let me borrow a tandem and a skeleton so I can beat this dude’s record. Only 437 miles!
Longest Tandem Bicycle Ride With Full-Sized Artificial Skeleton In Back Seat. Art Hoffman rode 437 miles with a full-sized skeleton on the back seat of his tandem bicycle. The skeleton (named Oscar) was affixed to the back seat with Hoffman when he participated in the RAGBRAI bike ride in 1987. Oscar wore a “U.S Tobacco Industry” sign that was part of anti-smoking campaign Hoffman started.
Luke of 5th Floor London and his buddy Sam have an interesting Journey ahead which involves a tandem and lots of beer, and it is for a good cause!
What’s the deal?
“Essentially it’s a 1000 mile pub crawl from John O’ Groats to Land’s End tasting the finest ales Britain has to offer… on a tandem. We’ll be cycling 70-100 miles a day, visiting breweries, camping in pub gardens and blogging along the way… http://www.pedallingforpints.com
We’re raising money for Wheels for Wellbeing, a charity who encourages and supports disabled people cycling in London. Everyone that reads your blog knows exactly how much enjoyment cycling brings to them and I think it’s a great chance to help give less-abled people that opportunity… http://www.justgiving.com/pedallingforpints ”
